Please note: I am now a mentor to a small group of Iyengar teacher trainees who learn by shadowing me, so expect to see them in classes, observing me teach and sometimes demonstrating or teaching poses under my guidance.

Days/times in 2025

  • Chair yoga Tuesdays 11.30am-12.45pm. £50 for six weeks or £10 drop in (£7.50 if money is tight).

  • Tuesday & Friday 10am yoga, suitable for all including aged 55+

  • Tuesday 6pm active beginners keen to move and learn

  • Tuesday 7.30pm ongoing students - includes asanas from syllabus Level 1-3

Three other Iyengar yoga trained teachers also use the same class pass system as me at Maitri Studio. Maura and Annamarie remain fully registered Iyengar yoga teachers, while Eva has gone on to mix other styles and offers core yoga.

  • Sundays 9am active beginners with Maura Gribbin

  • Thursdays 6pm active beginners with Annamarie McCausland

  • Fridays 7.15am core yoga with Eva Komuves

I encourage beginners to attend the specified beginners classes. If you are completely new to yoga, or new to me as a student, please contact me to check what is suitable. All of my classes have an online (Zoom) option. Chair yoga only by agreement if practised already.

Who can attend?

Everyone! The wonderful part about Iyengar yoga and the long training and ongoing professional development is that we learn to modify poses to be suitable for all. I have students of all ages from young adults to people in their 70s and 80s. You can still attend if you have complaints such as back or shoulder pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, anxiety/depression, sciatica and so on. And in fact many people say yoga helps with their conditions. If you're not sure, please contact me. The chair yoga class is ideal if you are not able to easily get up and down from the floor.

Prices

A 10 class pass for my classes at Maitri Studio is £90, valid for 3 months. It is £12 drop-in (£7.50 concessionary). We also have a 6-class option (valid for 7 weeks) at £60. An hour's 1:1 class with me is £55.

Registration for classes

Please sign up and pay through the Maitri student portal, where you can also buy classes as gift vouchers. Concessionary rates are to help people for whom money is a barrier to attendance. This may include, for example, full time students not earning, those on state pension only, people on full benefits or those with carer’s responsibilities and associated costs. Drop-in places also available (pay online or in cash on the day).
